ArmorBond Thermoplastic Coating System
ArmorBond is Lakeland Plastic’s proprietary thermoplastic coating system that produces an incredibly durable, colorful and permanent coating that is applied via crosshead extrusion coating process over a steel tubing substrate.
How Does Armorbond Work?
The thermoplastic coating is permanently bonded to the steel tubing substrate using a specially formulated, heat activated adhesive that is applied to the steel tubing immediately prior to the coating process. The ArmorBond process makes the thermoplastic coating adhere to the steel tubing which creates a bond that is virtually inseparable, allowing it to be roll formed, bent or drilled without the plastic coating whitening or separating from the steel tubing.
Uses for ArmorBond Thermoplastic Coating System
ArmorBond has been used with great success in even the most demanding of applications such as shopping cart handles, bus grab rails, conveyors and gravity feed racks. The specially formulated colors used for ArmorBond are UV protected and will stand up to the harshest outdoor environments.
ArmorBond has many useful industrial and commercial applications and if you are considering a crosshead extrusion coating project that requires unsurpassed durability and functionality, give Lakeland Plastics Sales Engineers a call today for a prompt quotation or to answer any questions you may have.
